Coded slides were examined at 200 magnification using a fluorescence microscope (AxioCam MRC, Carl Zeiss, Germany) whereby 500 randomly selected non-overlapping cells on each slide were analysed microscopically by categorising cells as undamaged cells without a tail (Grade 0 = CA0), cells with a tiny tail (Grade 1 or mild damage = CA1), cells with a dim tail (Grade 2 or moderate damage = CA2), cells with a clear tail (Grade 3 or severe damage = CA3), and only tail (Grade 4 or maximally damage = CA4)
