The only published study applying this approach to date in autistic disorder found that the GSH:GSSG was significantly lower in whole cell extracts and mitochondria from lymphoblastoid cells obtained from children with autistic disorder compared to controls but there was no difference in response to nitrosative stress as measured by GSH:GSSG in mitochondria [80]
