The argument that restrictions breed creativity is a real one, and I respect it, but there is a difference between meaningful restrictions that shape strategy and arbitrary ones that exist because a rule written decades ago did not fully anticipate how hybrid mana would interact with color identity
A great example of the latter is flickering and blinking
